Children's Dentistry

As a family dental practice, we cater to kids at Lanier Valley Dentistry. In fact, we took into consideration what kids would like to have when they came to visit us. It was with a resounding agreement that a TV with something fun to watch was enormously important. In addition to other kid friendly perks, we delivered with Apple TV in each operatory that hovers directly over the kiddos. They can watch their favorite princess or superhero shows while getting their teeth evaluated and cleaned. After the cleaning and a discussion about their teeth and oral hygiene instruction, a trip to the treasure box is always a hit.

Good Times for Kids

We provide a comfortable and knowledgeable staff that can care for your young one’s dental needs. In addition to that, we have apple TVs in each of our operatories. Kids, as well as adults, can pick any number of movies to watch to take their mind off getting a cleaning and ease any dental phobia they may have. At the end of their appointment, a high five and a trip to the treasure box always results in a smile.

Sedation dentistry

Sedation dentistry for kids is sometimes necessary to provide a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for providing dental services. N2O (nitrous oxide) is available in each operatory and is recommended by our office for operative treatment for light conscious sedation (kids are awake and responsive at all times). We see a large number of pediatric patients and treat them here at Lanier Valley Dentistry; however, for our sedation cases, we refer to a sedation certified pediatric dentist for treatment.

Stainless Steel Crowns

Stainless Steel Crowns are cemented crown that is used to help reconstruct teeth that are otherwise unable to be restored using conventional tooth colored composites. This includes all teeth that are restored after pulpotomy. Remember many of the baby teeth will be present in your child’s mouth until they are 11-12 years and play a large role in space maintenance and guiding the eruption of permanent teeth.

Pulpotomy

Pulpotomy is the removal of pulp tissue from the inside of a tooth. This treatment is typically reserved for teeth that have cavities that have reached the inside of baby tooth. We expect good results from the treatment when it is coupled with the placement of a stainless steel crown. Remember many of the baby teeth will be present in your child’s mouth until they are 11-12 years.
